My girls had so much fun making this rag quilt

If you can cut squares and sew straight lines you can make this quilt.

I LOVE this quilt! I am a crocheter - that's it. I've always wanted to learn how to knit and quilt - someday...

I checked out that site - awesome tutorial for the rag quilt. I'm definitely going to give it a try.

One question, you have these cute ribbons tied into the quilt - how did you do that?? It's not on the tutorial - I know NOTHING, so it's not obvious to me.

Thanks so much~

Hey, I'm so glad you like the quilt. The ribbons came kinda as an after thought. They realized after they made the quilt that we had some ribbon that had an identical color scheme to the quilt and thought it would be cute to add a little embellishment. They simply tied little knots and hand stitched them randomly on the flat (not ragged) side where the squares come together. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you have any more questions or need to see more pictures. If you make one send us a picture. We'd love to see it!

Can you show more pictures of the ribbons??? I would love to add ribbons...I am not a very adept quilter, you didn't thread them thru the fabric...right?..;)

Anonymous-

No the ribbons are not threaded through the quilt. We simply made ties (you could make bows) from the ribbon and placed them randomly on the quilt where the squares come together. Then we hand stitched them being careful not to go through to the other side of the quilt. Hope this makes sense.
